Educated at the University of Otago Richard completed a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing. He has since completed a number of strategic marketing and management courses including the Icehouse Owner Manager program. Richard is the former publisher and general manager of Queenstown's Mountain Scene newspaper. A chartered member of the Institute of Directors New Zealand, winner of the 2015 Otago Southland Institute of Directors Emerging Director Award. Over the past decade Richard has been involved in governance across charitable entities, industry associations, incorporated societies, and privately held companies. He is the Chairman of Destination Queenstown and past Chairman of the Queenstown Chamber of Commerce serving on that board for over 10 years. Richard is a director of Efficient Market Services which operates the USX and board member of Snow Sports New Zealand. He is also a director of Skyline Enterprises and some of its overseas subsidiaries. Richard is director and owner of business consultancy Redwulff Ltd, and a director of tourism-tech marketing company Bookme Ltd.
