I have been teaching piano continuously for almost 20 years with a variety of students ranging from 3 years up. I am friendly and encouraging and build good relationships with my students and this, in turn, brings out the best in their learning and playing. I take a flexible approach to teaching, and always tailor my methods to meet the individual needs of my students. This means not only teaching a variety of styles but also adapting learning goals for young learners, to those of the most ambitious performers. I have been learning piano since 1985 and during this time, I spent 7 years in tertiary music study and have graduated with a Bachelor of Music (Classical Piano). I try to develop good technique in my students as a foundation for continuous success. My students also learn good interpretation, sight reading and always enjoy their learning experiences. I believe that to bring out the best in students, a teacher needs a deep understanding of their subject matter. In teaching, I draw on my years of learning, which gives me the perspective of the learner. Parking is coveniently located underneath my piano studio with up to 4 hours free.
