Megiste Principal is Michael Kateifides. His career spans some 50 years. Michael started as a Research Physicist, in Australia's Experimental Building Station, testing & developing Australia's Building Code of practice. He created methodologies and computer programs to halve the test time (redundant staff assigned to other Michael's research), double the productivity and treble the accuracy. He worked as an Environmental Scientist, testing and developing NSW Pollution Acts & Regulations. He conducted enviro-lectures at country NSW to certify Local Council Inspectors. He was awarded the prestigious NSW Government award to conduct his Ph.D studies. Later, as a Chartered Engineer, he designed theatres, air-conditioning, and environment, for acoustics, noise and vibration. He prepared the NSW Government guidelines on Speech Privacy, Then Michael's work included Quality Management (team won the award for best QA system in Australia, to International Standards), and Value Management eg Cairns Base Hospital. Michael became Project Manager of large projects eg Sydney Conservatorium of Music. As Manager-Strategy he won several challenging tenders eg Sydney Water ‘Every Drop Counts'. For the Sydney Water project he developed a computer program to process over 40,000 work orders a year (supply chain, and billing to Client). In other projects he won, Michael developed efficient Work-Flow processes, and PRACC (Project Reporting And Cost/Control computer program). As a High School Teacher-in-Charge (Mathematics & Physics, Science) Michael was recipient of 'Top 5 Teachers' in NSW, and Top 200 Science Teachers' in Australia. His students went on to become Doctors and others admitted to the prestigious NSW Film & TV High School. Michael is a keen & committed volunteer. He was President of his suburb of Annandale, Sydney. With his Justice of the Peace authority, he continues to assist colleagues, Greek migrants, and the general public. He prepared and won the Innisfail Men's Shed biggest grant.
