OUTDOOR EDUCATION PROGRAMS + ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANCY 1. NATURE CONNECTIONS FOR THE LOVE OF NATURE… Inspires joyful involvement in the present moment by infusing a connection with nature. These outdoor guided mindfulness experiences, provide the opportunity to re-connect with nature in a safe and heart warming way, facilitating present moment awareness, through your senses and your breath. Each session includes somatic movement, energy work, mindfulness breathing techniques, focused attention engaging the senses and finish with some gratitude. Connecting kids to themselves, nature and the power of ‘now', to practice being fully present, developing mind mastery, all while connecting to one of our many coastal environments. COASTAL EXPLORERS INQUISITIVELY INSPIRED ADVENTURES, FOR NATURE LOVING KID's… Your kids will love being outdoors and immersed in nature, on a KIKKA outdoor adventure, discovering different coastal environments, through guided exploration. Sessions include a lot of discovery through exploration - walking, hoping, skipping or jumping around our coastline, some sneaky science and biology, fun games and some play time - there may even be an obstacle course. Catchment to Coast - takes you on a guided tour through our catchment to discover how people affect our coastline and find out what you can do to help. Dugongs and Mermaids - walk around to discover a real life seagrass habitat to find different species, learn about different animals and plants & use simple field keys. Speak for the Flora - we'll discover the secret life of plants, how they live, breath and eat and learn how to tell one from the other by searching for different species and identifying some of them. Happy Beaches - trekking around our coastal dunes to discover the plants and animals that make up these system's, while investigating what it takes to keep them happy and healthy. Speak for the Fauna - find out about the different animals that live near the sea and search for as many different types as you can find; in the water, on the land and flying high in the sky. Mangrove Muddlers - learn about mangrove's by exploring their habitat, find out how they adapted, see what animals like to live there and how to help protect them for the future. Plastic Turtles - focuses on the six Australian sea turtles, what they eat, where they live and what is affecting their ability to be healthy by looking at plastic pollution, we might even help out a little, by picking up some trash along the way. Rocky Shore Rambling - explore the rocky shore and how animals survive in this harsh environment with it's extreme conditions, while finding animals like crabs, mud whelks and sea stars. Afterschool Kids Program - Coming Soon - Beginning Term 4 2020 3. ARTSCAPES ESCAPE & CREATE… A creative space to develop a regular nature journaling practice in one of our coastal environments. We will introduce basic drawing techniques, while cultivating a greater appreciation for the natural environment and the animals and plants, that call it home. Sessions will begin by connecting kids with nature through a short mindfulness grounding and each week we develop and enhance our drawing skills including the ability to recognise lines, edges and angles, introduce proportion and perspective, decipher shadow, highlights and tone and culminating in the use of colour, then we pull it all together through our practice.
