Josh Lee Hamilton is an indie folk singer-songwriter from the Northern Rivers region of NSW. Josh's music is currently based in the small and vibrant surf town of Byron Bay. His years of growing up on the northern rivers, together with his overseas travel, have been the backdrop of inspiration for Josh's uniquley smooth and captivating sound. Josh has performed at festivals including Splendour In The Grass, has played alongside accomplished artists such as Caravana Sun and Garrett Kato and regularly plays the local venues of Byron Bay and surrounds. On the back of Josh's single releases 'A Lament', 'Here With You' and 'With The Wind' he recently completed his Australian Spring Tour. Josh's music has also been recognised by one of Australia's biggest radio stations, Triple J, where all of his single releases have been played. Josh was also a Triple J unearthed feature artist. In addition, his latest singles have been added to high volume streaming channels on both Spotify and You Tube. Josh's music has also received accolades from his local music community where he won Songwriter Of The Year at the NCEIA Dolphin Awards and Best Alternative/Indie Song with his single 'No Fun'. His successes at the Dolphin Awards earned him studio time at Pete Murray's Iron Kick's Studio, where he worked with studio engineer Paul Pilsneniks (who has worked with likes of Angus and Julia Stone, The Whitlams and Silverchair). This studio opportunity was used to capture the live magic of Josh's performances and will be released as a series of live acoustic video sessions, called 'December Sessions'. Josh is known for his smooth and easy listening sound that is also catchy and captivating. His unique stylistic melodies tell stories of love, struggles, relationships, hope and faith, an expression of both his personal life and observations of the world around him. Josh's song writing is known to weave a clever lyrical thread and sound that expresses the big and small, the shallow and deep, the head and heart, the soul and spirit, you and me.
