No Burn Fire Retardant Additive For Paint The fire retarding product included in the enclosed sachet is environmentally friendly it is a macro nutrient for soils and will not harm plants or vegetation. This naturally occurring compound has been tried and proven to retard fire in temperatures up to 800 Degrees Celsius. The 500 gram contents should be added to 5 litres of paint of any preferred color and stirred to completely disperse the powder evenly into the paint. Normal drying conditions apply as described on the paint tin. The NO BURN! when mixed evenly will blend into the paint and leave a slightly textured finish on the surface once dry. Suitable for Gloss and Matt finish paints both water-based and oil-based paint. The clean-up process is the same as un-retarded paint with water or solvents as directed by the manufacturer of the paint. NO BURN! is an Australian developed product designed especially for houses, sheds and fences in bush fire prone areas. It is not a fire preventative but will give the painted surfaces protection for up to 20 minutes in a fire front. NO BURN! reacts to excessive heat and forms a blister on the painted surface, this blister contains a non toxic gas from the endothermic reaction which retards the combustion of the organic substrate it is applied to. NO BURN! is not suitable for plastics or other materials which melt at high temperatures.
