We knew the city but quickly realised that that's not the adventure we are after, so we decided to buy our own car for trips around Australia. Tim, who has always worked in car workshops and checked cars for travelling friends of him quickly realised that a lot of cars are in bad condition and you have to invest time and money the get the cars fixed up for a save trip. Luckily, we are both in good contact to our host families so we had space and tools to convert it our self. All of that took us so much time that Tim who was only on a tourist visa had to leave the country after a couple short trips with our Pajero. That brought us to the idea of Backpackercars Australia.
